The Auckland Town Hall is a prominent civic landmark in the neo-Baroque style. Taking pride of place on Queen Street in Auckland’s city centre, it is known both for its original and ongoing use for administrative functions for the Auckland Council as well as its famed Great Hall and Concert Chamber. Built in 1910, Shed 10 is the only original building remaining on Queens Wharf. The Shed is a heritage-listed building which for much of its life was used to store cargo on Queens Wharf, before being shipped overseas. In 2012, Shed 10 underwent a thoughtful restoration that retains its heritage elements while providing the facilities expected in a premium events space and primary cruise ship terminal.
