Julia Jones, Phillip Ivanier and Rachel Owens will share recent examples of innovation and AI adoption at Air New Zealand, and what we have learned from turning new ideas into products that are used every day.
We'll look at innovations including SkyNest, next-generation kiosks and AI-supported decision-making to show how innovation happens inside the enterprise.
Although we are a large corporate, our enterprise agile operating model means our product teams can operate much like start-ups. We wrestle with product ideas, funding, stakeholder buy-in, scaling and getting new technology into production. The difference is we also get to see why products succeed (and stumble) inside the enterprise.
For founders and technology builders, this session offers a behind-the-scenes view of what happens before and after you've built a great product or learned from the not so great: how you get it adopted, scaled and supported in a large organisation. We will discuss what large organisations are looking for, where products commonly come unstuck, and what founders can do to make enterprise adoption easier.

Philip Ivanier is broadly responsible for 'not making a mess' while helping stir the innovation pot at Air New Zealand. Philip works across the business, seeking opportunities to innovate and solve problems with others.

Rachel Owens works at the intersection of AI, privacy and digital governance at Air New Zealand. Her background is in AI product development, responsible AI adoption and data science consulting.
