Build for Auckland: Base 44 Build Night

Join students, founders and professionals to solve real Auckland problems using Base44. Choose a challenge, form a team and build a working prototype in one evening, with support from mentors and workshops. The top five teams will pitch on stage, with NZ$600, $400 and $200 in prizes for the top three.

Build for Auckland brings together students, founders and professionals for an evening of turning real Auckland problems into working apps and agents using Base44. Co-hosted by Startup Club NZ and Auckland AI Meetup.
You do not need to arrive with a team or an idea. Browse challenges submitted by the community, choose a problem you care about and form a team of up to four people. Each team will receive a short brief and starting Base44 prompt before getting around an hour of focused build time.
The evening also includes a short workshop, exploring how to move beyond a prototype and think about building a sustainable business. Industry mentors will be available throughout the night to help teams develop their ideas and work through challenges.
At the end of the build, teams submit their prototypes for judging. The top five teams will pitch their solutions on stage, with the top three sharing a NZ$1,200 prize pool.

Icehouse Ventures’ began with the formation of Ice Angels, NZ’s first angel network, in 2003. A small group of passionate investors saw the opportunity to band together to support Kiwi innovators to take on the world. Over the next decade this grew into NZ’s most active angel network.
